Recently, we've been getting a lot of spam / spam users, it all started in Feburary 2009.

I have come to the conclusion that the current version phpBB's image verification (CAPTCHA) during the new user registration process is no longer effective. I will be updating the forum software in the next couple of days.

There could be minor interruption to the operations of the forum, I apologize in advance.

I updated the CAPTCHA for the forum software, hopefully this made it more difficult for the spammers.

Another update: reCAPTCHA has been implemented for new user registration process, this should greatly prevent spam-bot from registering on the board. This should not impact our existing users.

However, this does not stop people from posting spam messages if they actually go thru the whole registration process. Roach and I will do what we can to delete as we see them, but since we can't be on all the time, I'd like to remind everyone, do not follow any links that look suspicious.
